Our first state-wide planning conference will help you take "the next step" in preparing for the WWI Centennial commemoration. With the anniversary of America's entry into the war only eight months away, we want to continue our effort to communicate, coordinate and commemorate the role of Texas and Texans in the Great War.
Join us for a day of planning and coordination to help you develop activities for your community or organization, find key partners, and identify strategies for promoting commemoration events. Sessions will include subject-matter experts followed by round-table discussion.
The conference is open to all interested individuals and organizations. Please RSVP by Tuesday, August 9 by clicking the "sign me up" button and providing your registration information. Our meeting space has a maximum capacity. RSVP's will be accepted until we reach that limit.
Coffee and breakfast refreshments will be provided by the Texas Historical Commission. A variety of lunch sandwiches from Central Market, beverages, and afternoon snack will be provided at a cost of $15. Payment information will be provided prior to the conference. Our Saturday program is an optional "bonus day" that will include a behind the scenes tour of the Texas Military Forces Museum located at Camp Mabry in Austin, as well as other notable Austin sites associated with WWI or WWI resources.

Enter the Museum through the entry doors furthest from the parking garage. After exiting through the garage doors, walk all the way around the curve of the dome to a set of doors immediately before the Bullock's theater entrance. Museum security will be monitoring the doors to help direct you. Once inside, our meeting room is located in the classroom area of the Museum at the back right corner of the 1st floor lobby.
